Westport Alliance for Saugatuck

About Us:   The Westport Alliance for Saugatuck started with the concerns of school-aged parents who were frustrated about the increase in traffic over the past few years and how it was impacting their daily lives, access to children's school and activities and overall quality of life.  

As residents from throughout Westport - in all districts and all life stages - learned more about the project, and its potential impacts on traffic, public safety,  environment and ramifications on affordable housing compliance, opposition grew.  

The depth of opposition to this plan is evidenced by the growing list of petition signers - 1072 signatures as of today.

Many committed supporters working behind the scenes to help the efforts of the Westport Alliance prefer to remain anonymous because of work conflicts and/or because of fear of retribution.  A sad, but unfortunate reality today, even in a community as open, welcoming, and friendly as Westport.

We believe in smart, right-sized development that will benefit all residents.
