Since protecting Saugatuck is why the Alliance was founded, our leadership has contemplated how to help residents’ voices be heard in the Cribari Bridge debate. This project has been argued about without resolution for more than a decade.

Unless the community unites behind one solution, the Department of Transportation is likely to proceed with a new bridge designed with increased clearance—that would allow eighteenwheelers to pass through Saugatuck  on to Compo and Greens Farms. 

DOT contends we can stop thru trucks on local roads with signage. However, all the affected roads are State roads and we do not control them.
